NEW ORLEANS, LA: Intellectual Property Consulting (“IPC”), a top-tier intellectual property law firm and industry leader in complex patent and trademark matters, with the support and trust of Laitram's distinguished in-house patent team, announces today that after successful prosecution, Laitram has been granted United States Patent No. 11,235,932 by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The awarding of the patent, entitled "Modular Roller Conveyor," expands Laitram's deep intellectual property portfolio as well as IPC's reputation as a national and international leader in patent prosecution.

"The successful prosecution of this patent application is an excellent reflection of our team's commitment to our clients throughout the patent prosecution process," said attorney Stephen Kepper. "It has been a pleasure to work with Laitram, and we're proud to share with them in this accomplishment." IPC Founder and Managing Partner Greg Latham agreed, saying, "We are pleased with the USPTO’s decision to grant this patent to Laitram. Our experienced legal team is looking forward to supporting Laitram's future successes."

The “Modular Roller Conveyor” patent was developed by inventor Bryant G. Ragan to aid in the transportation and storage of items through multi-purpose conveyors and individual conveyor modules. Traditional conveyor systems are used by suppliers and manufacturers to transport items from between locations and require forklifts, trucks, and other machinery and physical labor. In addition, this transportation process also often requires pallets to move items, which are constructed of wood or other materials that may be prone to wear and degrade over time. All of these factors increase the likelihood that the products being transported may be damaged or lost in the supply chain process. This invention allows for automation of the loading and unloading of products, therefore removing the physical process of loading and unloading pallets, improving product capacity, and enhancing warehouse efficiencies in transporting and storing individual items.
